Calabar fans are fantastic, others must imitate – Maigari

Delighted Nigeria Football Federation’s President, Alhaji Aminu Magari has described Calabar fans as been polished and educated, urges other part of the country to emulate them.

Maigari enjoyed all the Nigerians soccer fans to emulate the Calabar fans in patience and understanding as the Super Eagles are on a building process.

The Gombe state born football administrator reiterated his plans to bring more national and international matches to Calabar after extolling the hospitality shown and peaceful atmosphere enjoyed during the team’s stay in Cross River State.

The gentle and collected top-notch officer of the country’s football governing body has wished Nigeria soccer lovers joy, peace and more victories ahead of subsequent matches which may be heavily envied by other part of the country, notably Lagos though hosting the national women team, Super Falcons.

The tolerant attitude of the Calabar fans must have delighted the leadership of the Nigeria Football Federation following the manner of composure and maturity displayed during the June 3^rd 2014 World Cup Brazil qualifiers against Namibia despite the team failed to win the match early.

The Calabar fans were spectacular again as they cheered the Super Eagles to a 2:0 comprehensive victory over the Wasps of Rwanda in Calabar on Saturday- A victory that sees Nigeria progress into the final round of the qualifiers for 2013 AFCON in South Africa.

My Take: If Super Eagles had lost, we would have known the true fans…

Abuja too was calm until they realized Nigeria will not be at AFCON 2012 and the real fans came out.

And the Eagles landed Safely…

Super Eagles of Nigeria on Saturday recorded a convincing 2:0 win against the Wasps of Rwanda thanks to goals from Ike Uche and Ahmed Musa, which were enough to progress to the final round.

A comprehensive start for Austin Enyeama led Super Eagles after Ike Uche who claimed MVP award against Namibia snatched an early lead in the 9^th mins from a scramble to fire past Rwanda’s Keeper Ganasa Eric.

In-form Ahmed Musa who grabbed a starting place ahead of Wigan’s Victor Moses completed the double after assassination the game from a long range to quench the pouring attacker of Rwanda in the 56^th minutes to give Stephen Keshi the much crucial victory to progress.

The victory has confirmed the Stephen Keshi’s lead national team a place in the final round of the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier billed for South Africa.
The progress of the Super Eagles has raised the bar for Stephen Keshi coaching instinct as he keeps working on all the departments to establish a solid Super Eagles.
Delighted Eagles head coach Stephen Keshi told CTV Sports that, "I'm happy with today's win, satisfied with the performance of the players and will keep celebrating the team's slender progress into the final qualifying round for 2013's Africa Cup of Nations in South Africa."
"We will return to training and continue on the improvement course to correct some mistakes will have identified today’s match as we continue to build a strong side."

Keshi could temporarily sleep with his both eyes closed with fears of much pressure off until September when the final round of qualifiers kick-offs as he keeps pulling the awesome admiration from the Nigerians though still yet to reach it perfect.
The Nigeria Football Federation under the leadership of Alhaji Aminu Magari would seem convinced on the decision of employing Stephen Keshi or might even bite his fingers for not have approved his appointment ahead of Siasia in the first place after watching Keshi building plans’ continue to yield brighter results and grow confidence.
The Super Eagles will now wait to know their faith on which country they will be playing in the last 15 as the first leg and second leg are scheduled for 7-9^th of September and 12-14 October, 2012 respectively.

Keshi and I are "TECHNICALLY" cool - Green

Chairman, Technical Committee of the Nigeria Football Federation, Barrister Chris Green has debunked reports making rounds in some section of the media over an insinuated clash with the Super Eagles head coach Stephen Keshi  with allegations of job interference. 

Green, in a chat after the Super Eagles training at the UJ Esuene Stadium in Calabar said, “it obvious their his great harmony in the team and quite not surprise it’s the handy work of our detractors which is not their first attempt to raise some dust before in the camp as they have been doing that before now, we are technically focused at working together for the progress of the game and to make Nigerians proud.”

The former Sharks of Port-Harcourt scribe indicated that the technical crew and the NFF technical committee are aware of the pressured laid on them ensuring no stone is left unturned as to meet expectations of Nigeria.

Green added, that Keshi is a mature, experienced person and simple team coach who knows his job and aim at getting the best out of his players- watching the performance of the players, you will be impressed with their attitude to play, strength, grit and experience shown.

He further hailed the efforts of the Keshi while assessing the ability of the domestic league players in training and after over seven friendlies for the domestic team confirmed that the availability of the domestic players will bolster options in various departments and also built great confidence in the home-based players to succeed but reckoned the players still lacked experience though have the pace and strength.

The Super Eagles will continues training in the bid to snatch the group’s ticket to ensure a place in the 2014 World Cup billed to be hosted by Brazil.

The match against Namibia in which nigeria ran with a 1-nil victors was keshi’s first competitive game for the World Cup and first international home game after they played a goalless draw away to Rwanda in the 2013 Cup of Nation’s qualifier early in the year.
