22 Players honor call-up

A total of 22 players are now in the camp of the national U-20 team, Flying Eagles. Head Coach, John Obuh kick-started his preparations for the 17th African Youth Championship Libya 2011 with trainings.

At the weekend, the Nigeria Football Federation had expressed disappointment with clubs who refused to release their players for national call.

As at press time, Obuh had 22 players and expressed optimism that the rest of the invited players would turn up.

“I have received calls from those who are not yet here and they assured they were on their way. But we are not begging anyone. We are ready to comb the length and breadth of this country to get very good players who can compete for shirts with those already in the established squad. Our determination to raise the best possible team for Nigeria has not wavered”, said Obuh.

Those at the team’s FIFA Technical Centre camp as at yesterday were Ayuba Job, Benjamin Ugochukwu, Amoabi Ifeanyi, Jonathan Zikiye, Kelechi Okoyomo, James Akoto, Nwachukwu Obinna, Tosin Yunusa, Hamzat Jamiu, Mbachu Tochukwu, Ahmed Yunusa, Uche Nwofor, Udeh Chinedu, Ekom Effiong,Odili Tosin, Morris Enete and Nwobodo Uchenna.
