Lagos Rugby Union League back-to-back champions, Cowrie Rugby Football Club are in intensive training towards their 3rd appearance at the Cape Town 10’s Rugby Tournament coming up early next month in South Africa.
According to the President of the club, Mr. Kelechi Mbagwu, “We are at an advanced stage of our preparation for our first event of the 2011 rugby season, being the Cape Town 10-a-side international rugby tournament in Cape Town, South Africa from Friday 04 – Sunday 06 February 2011.
He says “The Coach Mr. Joseph Mbu and his assistances are working very hard to get the players fully prepared for this first event of the year”
According to Kelechi who is also the chairman of the much talked about and highly successful “Friends of Rugby” group, “The players didn’t have a long break like other clubs because we were focused on this very early event on our calendar.”
This will be their 3rd appearance at the event and the players are optimistic that they will surpass last year’s quarter-final achievement.
