FOUNDATION CRICKET CLUB VERSUS IBADAN METROPOLITAN CRICKET CLUB:
When would Foundation Cricket Club suffer their first loss in Division 2 is the big question on every cricket enthusiast lips? Newly elected captain of the in-form team Oshodi Dele has acted well in that capacity since taking over from Oris Oruye by guiding his side to six wins out of six with three matches left to play.
Ibadan Metropolitan Cricket Club would hope to begin the New Year on a winning note as well as put an end to the back-to-back losses the Akinyemi Biyi side have suffered this season in the hands of the table toppers in Division 2 FCC.
A win for FCC which is likely possible going by the experience they posses in the squad would guarantee their place back in Division 1 and then qualify them for super four. We can be rest assured that IMCC won ít and lie for FCC to roll over them because three losses against one particular team would be a bitter pill for them to swallow.
RED-BULL CRICKET CLUB VERSUS STALLIONS CRICKET CLUB:
Different strokes they say is for different folks. Just as Foundation Cricket Club are celebrating unbeaten run in Division 2 the same cannot be said of Stallions Cricket Club who are yet to win a game in this season ís Iris Smart Technology Club Cricket Committee League by losing all their six matches and that parades them as the whipping boys in the lower Division.
Esekhaigbe Itua, who was the stand-in captain for their game against IMCC last year which they lost scandalously wished for a standard eleven players that can be rotated other than the haphazard style they are used to.
Truth be told that change cannot be effected this season as it comes too soon for SCC while Captain Arogundade Niyi and his team mates would want to quickly forget their poor performance last year to begin with victory over RBCC who have completed a double over this season.
Another defeat for Stallions is written all over this fixture but they could surprise themselves by claiming a shocking victory.
FEDERAL GOVERNMENT COLLEGE WARRI OLD BOYS CRICKET CLUB VERSUS LAGOS ASIANS CRICKET CLUB:
Federal Government College Warri Old Boys Cricket Club lost their first game this season against Table Toppers BRFCC in a keenly contested fixture to remain second on the log after experiencing a perfect start with two wins going into that match.
Against a Lagos Asians Cricket Club who have won one out of their two matches since they gained promotion to remain fourth in Division 1. Both teams are familiar foes from their days in Division 2 and this game promises to be a cracking encounter with the two teams desperate to get back to winning ways after losing their last match.
FGCWOBCC seems to be playing a more matured cricket than LACC and if there ís any hope of playing in the super four then this match is important for both teams.
GOVERNMENT COLLEGE IBADAN OLD BOYS ASSOCIATION VERSUS BRFCC:
If lovers and followers of the Spanish La Liga look forward to El Classico every season which is the biggest match in Spain then Government College Ibadan Old Boys Association slugging it out with BRFCC would be a classy encounter.
What are we expecting is it revenge or supremacy as GCIOBA last season did not only end former Ibeju Lekki Cricket Club 1 hís eleven match unbeaten run but also won four trophies against the double champions of the Club Cricket Committee League.
Former ILCC 1 would be proud of the fact that they completed back-to-back victories over GCIOBA last season and still maintain an unbeaten run in three matches this season. It is however worthy of mention that cricket lovers would be entertained at the prestigious Tafawa Balewa Cricket Oval with great bowling, exciting batting, superb fielding and fantastic wicketkeeping.
The two teams are the most successful as far as Nigerian Cricket is concerned because of the quality players that represents the Nigerian Cricket National Team.A quick peep into the stars that are expected to be on parade includes; Segun Olayinka(WicketKeeper),Yemi & Kunle Adegbola, Osita & Chimezie Onwuzulike, Captain Seun Odeku, Tayo Okusanya,Obie Harvey,Chibike Iteogu,Abiodun Shittu,Animashaun Seyi, Odedele Gbenga and Team Manager Adebola Ogunshina for GCIOBA.
